KML Support in Palanterra™ X3

Palanterra™ X3 supports the following KML elements:

n  Placemarks

n  Icons

n  Folders

n  Descriptive HTML

n  KMZ (compressed KML)

n  Points, Lines, Polygons and MultiGeometry

n  Styles for points, lines, and polygons (including color, fill, and picture symbols with fully qualified URLs)

n  Network Links to import data dynamically

n  Regions inside network links (for efficient loading of large KML datasets)  New!

n  Ground Overlays and Screen Overlays

The KML parser silently ignores XML tags that it does not understand or does not support.

There are currently no size or complexity restrictions for KML rendering in Palanterra™ X3.  However, there is a practical limit of around 500 geometries before browser performance may be affected.
