TNM Overlay in Google Earth These links open a .kmz file to demonstrate how The National Map services can be rendered in the Google Earth application, which would need to be previously downloaded and installed by the user.
Services
Services list This page shows all services used in The National Map viewer, with the number of layers in each. These available raster and vector services support the eight primary data themes of Elevation, Geographic Names, Governmental Unit Boundaries, Hydrography, Orthoimagery, Land Cover, Structures, and Transportation.
Service legends This page displays the legend icons for selected ESRI ArcGIS map services, including services used by The National Map viewer, shown above.
Multi-click elevation query This function allows a user to click the map to set elevation survey makers, and then click each marker to then see the elevation in feet and meters plus the data source. This page uses the EROS elevation web service query located at http://cumulus.cr.usgs.gov/app_services.php.
Elevation profile This page demonstrates how a user can have an elevation profile drawn by drawing a path on the map. Sample intervals can be set in feet, meters, or degrees.
